If you have been paying attention to the news, you know that we just finished the Consumer Electronics Show for 2018. Now most of the products shown there are for consumers and a lot of the products shown tend to be concepts only. However there were some things that were shown there that might be useful to your business. Whether it’s just a more powerful laptop, or some new gadget for you to use in the office. CES 2018 had some interesting tech to help make the office better.

Laptops are the most obvious tech that was shown off at CES 2018. Still if you office is looking to upgrade its computers, take a look at some of the products listed.

1.Dell XPS 13 refresh- this Dell laptop has an Intel Core i7-6500U, 8GB memory/256GB SSD, Up to 11 hours battery life, and 13.3-inch QHD+ touchscreen. Built for performance, this Dell laptop caught the eye of many people attending CES 2018. It has the battery life to be a powerful and efficient laptop for the working professional.

2. HP Envy x2 2-in-1 Intel laptop- A laptop that you can also use as a tablet. Perfect for working at your desk, and then taking your work to a meeting to show your boss you’re doing something. Powered by  Y-Series version of Intel’s 7th generation Core i CPUs. This laptop is equipped with a 12.3-inch 1920 x 1280-pixel touch display, up to 256GB SSD storage, up to 8GB of RAM, 16.5-hour battery life.

3. Acer Swift 7- This laptop is nice and thin, perfect for the mobile employee. Acer’s Swift 7 laptop is 8.98 mm thin. 4. Acer Nitro 5- What looks like a high end gamers laptop, can also be a great tool for the creative professional in the company. The device sports a 15-inch Full HD IPS display, AMD Radeon RX560 graphics, Ryzen processors, up to 32GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage. It is exceptional at rendering images and graphics. Perfect for the creative designer in the company that is using a computer that is not up to par.  

Outside of Laptops we have some cool gadgets and apps that could be coming to an office near you.

1. Samsung Flip- Samsung’s attempt at being a part of the workplace of the future. The Samsung Flip is an interactive whiteboard that should add and effective new way of getting through project meeting. It also able to connect to mobile devices.

2. Asus Alexa Voice Assistant- Asus is ditching Microsoft’s Cortana for Amazon’s Alexa. Now 2018 Asus laptops and computers will have Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant built into it. Perfect for Workspace with IoT devices. Now you can have the coffee made when you ask Alexa.

3. Segway Looma Go- You should be familiar with Segway. The company that make the motorized two wheel scooters. Now they are working on a device for the office to delivery things at human speed. So if you have to hand some paperwork to your boss and your not in the mode to look at him, you can send this little gadget in your place. Also helpful to be proactive with the person who always borrows your stapler.
